Actually, what we do is quite a bit different. That is why this website is so chock full of information. You can read as much or little as you want. Most people do not have good, accurate information about the subject, for purchasing quality/high end, (hand built and outfitted exactly the way you want it) custom sheath systems like these. All you need do is read. EXACT INFORMATION ON THE EASIEST WAY TO ORDER one of our combat/wilderness grade custom sheath systems is two paragraphs down, under the very next group of photos you see. When you contact him, Doug Wilson (who is a former u.s. army special ops veteran, and a lifelong outdoor adventurer, Backpacker, hunter etc.) will give u all of the assistance, help, and recommendations u need, if u need it. Everything you see and read is genuine. We have been designing and building combat/wilderness grade custom kydex sheath systems longer than most. And, we ask our customers to tell us exactly what they want their custom system to be. For Nearly 20 years, Every system we have designed/built, is born out of a comprehensive U.S. Army Special Operations backround, as well as many years of Outdoor Adventuring, field work, survival, bushcraft, wilderness backpacking, hunting, etc. Simply take a good look at our sheath systems, and u will see that we do things much differently than most other "sheath makers", and that our custom rigs, are some of the FINEST, STRONGEST, albeit LIGHTEST, pieces of custom built gear anywhere. In Special Operations, gear must be durable but also light weight as well. Our unique designs, hand plucked materials, options, etc. do reflect this little known, albeit "unwritten rule". OVER VIEW- The very first things you need to know about ordering a custom sheath system from YHCO is: Honestly, You will pay a bit more for most of our Custom Built-sheath systems than your "average kydex sheath". Because we do alot more for you, and put in much more time than other makers. Due to our very high quality/attention to detail/durability standards. Our Proprietary and utilitarian designs/build techniques, and our top of the line materials/options. We DO NOT cut corners to "save money". Others already do that, and it is contrary to our higher standards. As well, our standard build time is (give or take), 10-12 weeks. However, Fear not, we do have a "FAST TRACK" Program. Regardless, we have never had a customer say that our sheath systems were not worth the wait! We feel very fortunate that our sheath systems are so popular. "Quality/Durability/Utility/but light-weight", is our religion here at YHCO! You will be relieved to know, we GENERALLY do not neeeed to keep your knife the entire time. If you wish, we can let you know when its time to send it. (we still ask u to send payment though. Please let Doug know if you want to hold onto your knife until we need it. *** HOW TO ORDER A CUSTOM SHEATH SYSTEM: Just some FYI. *** We do ask that you send a personal check or Money order as payment, along with your knife (if applicable - it usually is). We will accept PAYPAL as a last resort, but prefer not to. Also, Their fees/taxes are getting rediculous. PLZ Let us know if you can only pay through Paypal. NOTE- Our Sheath Systems have become very popular. As Well, we do this full time, unlike most other makers, and our build time is still fairly good, considering. HERE is the easiest way to order a hand built custom sheath system from Yellow Hawk Customs Outdoors. ( STEP #1.) Make sure u know what our current build time is ( currently, 10-12 ish weeks). If u want to opt for our Fast Track Program, it will cut the time nearly in half. There is a fee. It depends on the total work hours of your system. So ask Doug about it if u neeeed ur system sooner. We will put in the O.T. for you, to get it finished. (STEP#2.) Read a bit about us and what we do here, on this website, then look at the pics in the Galleries and choose something exactly, or close to what you might want. Doug shows alot of his custom Sheath systems and great knives/ gear/ skills, etc as well ). (STEP #3). Then TEXT Doug Wilson on his Co. Cell Phone- #443-315-6033, and tell him the number of the photo/s u chose, as well as what you might want on your sheath system. That sheath system can be built for your knife, with possible mods for your specific blade geometry, of course. Let him know whether u r right/left handed, and what types of carries u want in your system- ie. Tabby Dangler, Tabby Leather leg drop, Tek Lok clip, Baldric carry, pocket carry, IWB (for small sheaths),etc. We can usually give you as many styles of carry in one system as u desire. Usually. Also, Make sure u Read the DESCRIPTION BOX of each photo by clicking on the photo itself. Note the BALLPARK PRICE as well. Doug WILL text you back, and you and he can decide on any changes or particulars. HE will then give you a total price plus tax/shipping. We offer so much in custom options, that allowing you to order off a website is simply not feasible. Yes, we can also build you a bombproof, BASIC sheath as well. Texting or talking with Doug is the best way to get it done without overlooking anything. Remember, we do not simply "make" kydex sheaths. We "BUILD" Custom Kydex Sheath Systems, that have been fully tested. Honestly, we are a pretty safe bet! (STEP #4). NEXT, WE request that you pay by personal check or money order, sent within a week or so of your order. Usually when u send your knife to us. Easy Peasy. We will, as a last resort, accept paypal payment at the time that you order your sheath. Our Paypal I.D. u will use is onehawk@hotmail.com. Please let us know if you can only pay by paypal. We then request that you pay all paypal fees. Which is 10 percent of the total payment. (STEP #5). Then, if applicable, you send your knife (and check or money order) to- R. Payment is sent, and knife is received by YHCO. If u need/want to hold onto your knife until just before your build day, this is FINE. However, you must let Doug know right away if you want to do this. He must mark it on your order, so he remembers to contact you when he needs you to send your knife in. However, if it works out that your system can be built early, we can't build it. We will not have your knife.

We believe in giving you all the information possible, to help you decide on the right builder and custom Kydex or Leather over Kydex ( YHCO-Leather Elite) rig that is right for you and your particular needs. Especially in a backcountry or tactical ops situation. At YELLOW HAWK CUSTOMS OUTDOORS (Y.H.C.O.), we have been at this for many years, and our wilderness and military grade sheath systems are in use by professional/avid outdoorsmen, survivalists, bushcrafters, special ops soldiers, conventional military units, government operators, law enforcement officers, and more... all over the globe. Unlike most "makers", we do this full time, with the utmost passion, quality, attention to detail and design- as well as utility, and durability. We do not merely "make kydex sheaths". (Any guy with some kydex can do that!). Rather, We BUILD- Wilderness and Combat grade - CUSTOM KYDEX, AND LEATHER OVER KYDEX - SHEATH SYSTEMS! NOTE: When ordering a sheath system from YHCO, we always recommend that you send your knife in, especially if your knife is a custom knife, of any degree. Whether it be hand forged (ie. Peter Kohler or Lon Humphries Knives) or stock removal method (ie. LT Wright Knives, Bark River etc.). We do have many "production knives" that we use as mold knives, however, even production knives, such as a Tops Silent Hero for example, can differ a bit, from Lot to Lot. Generally we do not use SNAPS on our sheath systems. They are simply not secure enough. Even "Pull the dot" snaps. We realize some other "makers" use them. We do not "make", WE BUILD. And, we build for keeps. If you absolutely have to have snaps on your belt loops etc, we can certainly DO it. We have done it before. At the very least we can tell you the horror stories we have experienced. When you decide to work with us, on ordering a custom sheath system from YHCO, it is imperative that we are on the same page, about exactly what you want and expect, as well as what you are actually going to receive, when all is said and done. Please do not assume anything. Please ask questions. This is YOUR CUSTOM SHEATH SYSTEM. Now, shoot us that text, and lets work on your new YHCO sheath, together! The strong and durable Tabby Dangler was invented by Yellow Hawk Customs to be able to offer its clients, a dangler style carry while still being able to attach a belt clip to the back of the sheath for versatile belt carry as well. The sheath system shown is a typical Tabby dangler with a tek lok clip in multi carry configuration. There are 5 different carry configurations possible with this system. Standard. The dangler carry, and "45 degree" cross draw mode are shown here.
Other than what is shown here, this rig has 3 other belt carry positions possible. As well as Baldric carry. Note the Drings on back and front which allows you to attach a carry sling. We offer Beachin tactical slings made by Jacob Peterson at the Preppers Bunker. See next photo. There is also optional "tooling" on the quality, dyed/oiled/waxed - 9-10 oz Herman Oaks leather loop. Note the clients' initials stamped in the leather as well.

The quality Diamond rod sharpener is seen on the blade side of this sheath system. Which may or may not be the case on yours. Sometimes we will build the Fine diamond rod holder as a "Tek Lok/slide lok- and/ or Molle Lok- Mounting Plate. As is seen on this sheath system for our Delta Whiskey Infinity EDC knife. Tek Lok belt clip shown. NOTE the Live Fire tin and assembly holder on the right side of the tek lok belt clip. Live fire is an example of "sure fire". You will always have fire in the field, if you add this to your sheath system, along with a ferro rod ( approx.$29). Comes in large or small tin. Small shown
This DMT Fine/Extra fine flip open "folding" diamond stone is mounted as a piggyback sheath on the front of this tabby dangler sheath system. Note ferro rod on the blade side and holder which doubles as a mounting plate for a Tek Lok belt or molle lok clip on the back. Knife is a JX2 Jessmuk designed by Shane Wink and Chris Tanner of PM101. Built by LT Wright.
Note the Kryptek Mandrake infused pattern kydex, and the ferro rod holder that doubles as an optional mounting plate for the Tek Lok belt or centered molle lok clip.
Tactical Black "Spook" pattern kydex sheath system we designed for some Special Forces Operators for their plate holders. Small DMT extra fine fold out diamond sharpening stone as a piggyback on the mainsheath. So the operators can keep that edge tuned easily while in the field.
